Hello, I am the EA developer, Reiwa no Double-i.
Today, I would like to talk about ideas that are useful when there are issues or troubles in EA operation.
Do you know the 4M Change Points commonly used in factories?
First of all, if you have worked in manufacturing or in a factory, you may have heard of the term “4M Change Points.” Do you know it?
4M Change Points refer to a framework used to identify the causes when defects or problems occur. It consists of four “M”s, which are checked as change points.
- Man (People): personnel involved in the work
- Machine: machines and equipment used in manufacturing
- Method: manufacturing methods and processes
- Material: materials and parts used
In manufacturing, by confirming where the changes occurred based on these “4M,” you can trace the cause of the defect.
How can this be applied to EA operation?
This way of thinking is actually very useful in EA operation as well.
For example, when some defect or trouble occurs in EA operation, to see what changed, use a framework similar to the “4M Change Points” to think about the causes.
- Man: differences in the author or operator of the EA, differences in settings, etc.
- Machine: differences in the EA itself, differences in the account used or VPS (virtual server).
- Method: whether it is simple interest or compound interest operation, how deposits/withdrawals are done and their frequency, etc.
- Material: price movement, delivered quotes, differences in LP (Liquidity Provider), etc.
For example, even when using the same EA, the results may differ if the person is different. Also, even if using the same account or VPS, performance can change due to differences in spreads and rate delivery.
The EA program itself does not change
The important point here is that the EA program itself does not get rewritten.
- Even if the account used for the EA changes, the program inside the EA does not change.
- Even if the operator changes, the contents of the EA do not change.
- Even if the VPS changes, the contents of the EA do not change.
In other words, even if trouble occurs, it is basically not because of the contents of the EA program itself. Rather, the differences in the surrounding environment of the EA (account, VPS, operator settings, rate delivery, etc.) are usually the cause.
Solve troubles based on 4M
When troubles or issues occur, first pay attention to these “4M Change Points.” Calmly identify what changed and where the differences are to get closer to the cause.
Assuming that “the EA program itself does not change,” focus on changes in the environment surrounding the EA to efficiently resolve the trouble.
With that in mind, I hope your EA operation becomes more fulfilling!
