Growth Process – Common Points Between Early Life Experience and EA Development

Hello, I’m Reiwa’s Double-EA, an EA developer.

Today, I’d like to think about the commonalities between human growth and EA development.
Since childhood, we have learned and grown through experiences.

We have found patterns and laws like “if this happens, that happens,” and by stacking them, we’ve cultivated judgment and predictive ability, right?

In fact, this process is very similar to EA development.

“If this, then that” – accumulation of learning

As we grow from childhood, there are countless chances to learn from experience.

For example,

If it rains, you get wet → you start using an umbrella.

Studying raises test scores → you realize the importance of study.

Effort yields results → you learn the power of persistence.

These are laws learned from small experiences,
and their accumulation nurtures **predictive power** and **judgment**.
Thus, as we grow, we learn our own “success patterns” and “risks to avoid.”

In EA development, the “if this, then that”

This growth process applies directly to EA development as well.

EA developers also repeatedly find laws like “if this, then that,” and put them into logic.
For example, when a particular technical indicator shows a certain shape, we build logic to predict the next move.

If RSI falls below 30, buy → If RSI drops below 30, the market may rebound.

When moving averages cross, the trend changes → Enter at the cross timing.

In this way, we develop EA based on rules of thumb and pattern recognition.
Then, we verify whether that logic is effective in backtests and forward tests, and by tweaking based on results, we complete a more accurate EA.

Growth Includes Failures

Also, both human growth and EA development heavily rely on learning from failures.
As a child, when you fall and feel pain, you start to walk more carefully next time, right?
Experiences of failure often lead to future success.

The same is true in EA development. By analyzing losing trades or losing markets,
you learn that **“in this market, this logic doesn’t work.”**
Then, in the next version, you improve to avoid those risks and grow the EA.

Growing by Accumulating Experience

For EA developers, the **“experience”** gained from daily operation and testing is very important.
No matter how excellent an EA is, there are many things you won’t know until you run it.
Therefore, by accumulating the experience of “if this, then that,” the developer grows and can create better EAs.

Growth takes time, but
the成果 you gain in the next step will be greater the more time you invest.
EA development, like human growth, evolves through experiential learning.

Summary

Learning the rule of “if this, then that” and accumulating experience are things we’ve been doing since childhood,
and EA development is exactly the same process.
Based on the experience of successes and failures, we can create better logic and grow EA.

Therefore, in EA development too, don’t fear failure; accumulating experience is the key to success.
