Is the EA setup difficult?

First, what I often hear is, “EA is difficult to set up, so I won’t use it.”

Indeed, for those using FX automated trading for the first time, initial setup may feel difficult.

However, once the setup is done once, the rest operates automatically, which is the greatest魅力 of EA.

EA setup requires installing EA into trading platforms such as MT4 or MT5 and configuring risk management, but

many vendors provide detailed manuals and support.

so once you take the first step, you can start asset management with EA.

In other words, “the setup is difficult” is only the initial step, and

once the setup is complete, EA will automatically trade on your behalf and monitor the market daily as a powerful tool.

Do you need to know EA logic and features?

Next commonly heard question: “It’s troublesome because I have to study EA logic and features.”

Indeed, each EA has different logic and will enter or exit under certain market conditions.

However, you can operate without knowing the internals or specific logic.

What’s important in using EA is learning how to choose EA and manage risk.

This is knowledge within reach even if you don’t have trading knowledge, and

it’s the basic knowledge to determine which EA suits your asset management.

How to choose an EA:

Check backtest results and forward-test performance, whether risk management settings are solid, and whether support is reliable.

How to manage risk：

EA does not always generate profit. There are times of losses, so it’s important to determine the level of risk, and set position sizes and stop losses appropriately.

With EA operation, once you learn these basics, you can trade automatically with minimal ongoing attention.

In other words, you don’t need to understand the logic contents; just choose the right EA and control the risk.

EA is not semi-discretionary trading

Another reason people fail to start EA is the misconception that

“EA cannot operate automatically.”

Some may think “EA is a supplementary tool for discretionary trading.”

However, the true purpose of EA is fully automated trading.

If you implement and configure EA properly, there is no need for the trader to constantly monitor the market or manually enter and exit trades.

EA will automatically assess the market and execute trades at the optimal timing.

Of course, you can incorporate discretion, but EA itself can operate automatically without manual intervention.

So, even if you think you can’t operate without partial discretion, you can rest assured that you can run it hands-off.

Reasons to adopt EA now

While the spread of FX automated trading may still be limited,

that means the market is like a “blue ocean” right now.

If many people haven’t yet taken the plunge into EA operation, recognizing its魅力 and starting to operate now

could lead to significant future returns.

By the time cars enter an era of autonomous driving, FX trading may also become predominantly automated.
