Cryptocurrency Market Analysis [December 17]
Today Bitcoin reached a record high of 16,000,000 yen, and later surged to around 16,500,000 yen. In dollar terms, it reached a market-high of 10,700 dollars.
It is also said that a major factor was Trump indicating in a recent interview that the United States would strategically stockpile Bitcoin.
Additionally, Ripple (XRP) is set to release the RLUSD stablecoin in the near future. A stablecoin is a cryptocurrency tied to the dollar, and by using RLUSD, XRP is expected to be used more, thus it is said to impact the price. Because of such developments, a price of 413 yen was recorded today.
I began holding XRP in 2016, when it was around 0.4 yen. After the 2018 " cremation mound" bubble burst, Ripple was sued by the U.S. SEC, and while the lawsuit raged, this year since Trump’s election the price surged dramatically, marking the highest rise since December 2017.
There had been one bubble up to then, but I think those who held Ripple for such a long time are amazing. I have sold some as well, so my asset value is lower than it was back then.
However, since I had somewhat given up, compared to when it was around 20 yen, it has multiplied twentyfold, so I feel lucky.
Recently, price forecasts for 2025, when Trump is scheduled to take office, have been pouring in.
As for Japan’s cryptocurrency taxation, the Democratic Party for the People is requesting separate taxation (20%), but it seems there is no clear prospect of this being implemented.
Unfortunately, Japan is behind everything when it comes to cryptocurrency...
Even with the current tax system, I intend to operate strategically while understanding the tax rates.
