In the first place

EA developers assess the quality of an EA through

“backtesting” for verification.

Therefore, as a user

to “determine the quality of an EA,”

you need the skill of reading backtests.

With that in mind, this series

will describe “how to find winning EAs from backtests.”

【About Broker Names】

Normally, the broker name is listed below the EA name.

It may say things like FXS, or FOREX EXCHANGE.

HereAttentionis needed,

for example it may say FXFinest,

which does not mean you are using historical data from FXFinest (tick data).

The contents of tick data can be changed to another broker’s data.

Typically, EA developers will redo the backtest using tick data deemed reliable.

Therefore,

if you purchase an EA and backtest it with the same broker as on the sales page,

you will generally not see the same results.

※ Note that a chart that was rising may not suddenly fall;

in that case, it may be due to bugs in the calculation of external fees in the backtest,

and if things don’t go well, ask Gogojungle about how to perform backtests.

And if possible, also test with TDS (Tick Data Suite) for backtests.

That is something you would want to confirm via backtests.
