A laptop-connected GPU that can mine on cafes or at work has appeared!
For example, when you’re writing a manuscript at a cafe. When you’re going back to your parents’ home with your laptop. Even such a banal, everyday moment, if you wish to turn it into a mining opportunity, that’s severe minor syndrome. I’m like that.
For those mining enthusiasts who take it seriously, an item has been announced that catches their eye.
Its name is “eX Core.” A Canadian startup, funded through crowdfunding, developed as an external GPU.

When connected to a computer with a USB-C cable, it dramatically boosts graphics performance. It also features something called a “Turbo Hashing” function, claimed to process cryptocurrency mining at high speed.
However, the built-in GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050, a relatively modest spec by today’s mining standards. It should be fine for gaming, but it’s not powerful enough to dig up blocks rapidly. The Turbo Hashing technology could potentially be an amazing technology, though.
So, rather than an investment part for profitability, a better use might be as a kind of stabilizer—something you can plug into a laptop anytime, anywhere to mine. In other words, I want it.
As for the price, if you apply by August 10, it’s 49,800 yen. The product is slated to arrive in December 2018.
