Trading is something you lose

Series "The Heart of the Market, the Essence of Trading" Part 33

At New Year, I was looking again at my pet dog; although he just lounges around all the time, he gets attached to first-time visitors and is loved for it... I am still losing.
Happy New Year.
Issue 2018, No. 1 is about "victory and defeat."
A canoeist aiming to compete in the Tokyo Olympics mixed a rival athlete's drink with a prohibited substance.
People say, "Unforgivable," "Don't do such a thing...", but let us consider from the perspective of the athlete who actually did it.
Not being able to go to the Olympics due to losing in competition... such an ending would be intolerable, a pain unique to top athletes.
I do not intend to reframe the incident as a structural problem, but I want to think about the "defeat" that athletes experience.
For top athletes, "only winning is not defeat" might be the case.
But the majority of athletes cannot even compete for the championship.
Loss, loss, loss... this is the "normal" state for athletes.
People say, "The market is merciless," and "you keep losing," but it is actually possible to win without physical strength or technique, and beginners can win big, so isn't this world actually quite easy...?
The market environment is favorable.
As prices rise, the potential for volatility increases, but profits and risks are one and the same; let's move forward without pushing ourselves too hard!
We look forward to your continued support this year as well.
