A startup named Lotos announced a new project on Reddit. The project aims to build a decentralized religious community that supports Buddhism and meditation, based on the Ethereum blockchain.

According to Lotos's white paper, the community structure is expected to be divided into three parts: an "off-chain software platform" that connects masters and disciples; an "internal economy backed by central-bank smart contracts and ERC20 tokens purchased via subscription fees"; and "the websites and back-end databases connected to the network via Swarm."

An ERC20-compliant Karma (KRM) token would be used for transactions on the platform and for crowdfunding platform development. Additionally, if users succeed in expanding the network, they can receive KRM as rewards.

Lotos believes that by innovatively combining science and religion, it can build a blockchain-based community.
