Start AI trading with My Mate! Vol.3 "Do technical indicators change trading trends?"
What is My Mate
Invast Securities' My Mate is a unique trading service that utilizes an AI for trading called an "AI Agent," which is powered by reinforcement learning.
The creation method is very simple: just answer four questions! Additionally, by having users evaluate trades, you can influence the AI Agent's thinking and nurture an original AI that matches your preferences.

Technical Indicators That Create Individuality
When creating an AI Agent with Invast Securities' My Mate, you need to answer several questions. The answers determine the AI Agent's personality, and each will trade with its own individuality. This time, I would like to focus on the "technical indicators." What I am about to discuss is only a "tendency" and does not guarantee the results below, so please note that.
Trading Characteristics by Five-Point Rating
The technical indicators you choose when creating an AI Agent are one of six: "Moving Average," "Bollinger Bands," "RSI," "Stochastics," "Envelope," or "MACD." The figure below shows the trading characteristics of the AI Agent that selected these indicators (note*1).
For example, if the rating for "Number of Trades" is 5, it indicates many trades; if "Average Loss" is 5, it means losses per trade are kept small. A point to be careful about: a poor rating does not necessarily mean bad trading results. Even with few trades, there may be AI Agents that generate profits in those trades.
The most interesting point in this data is perhaps the difference between "Bollinger Bands" and "Stochastics." The former tends to have fewer large profits but also smaller losses and more frequent trades, while the latter has fewer trades and smaller average profit/loss.
From this, you might infer that AI Agents patiently wait for opportunities but may struggle to decide, eventually settling with small gains or losses. However, this is also a trait of the AI Agent and can be viewed as room for growth. If there is a reluctance to make decisions, it is important to "nurture" it to compensate. If there is latent potential, properly "nurturing" it could elevate performance to levels unreachable by other AI Agents.
To reiterate, the results can vary significantly depending on other questions beyond technical indicators, such as "Currency Pair," "News," and "Educational Policy," as well as your own AI Agent's "nurture." Thinking about why your AI Agent trades contrary to your expectations and cultivating an AI Agent that performs the ideal trades you imagine can be one of My Mate's enjoyable aspects.
※1) Data representing all AI Agents born up to 2021/3/24, at 365 days after birth, rated on a five-point scale (a rating of 5 for losses indicates small losses).
【Important Matters About My Mate Risks and Costs】
This trading is over-the-counter foreign exchange margin trading and is not a guaranteed principal or profit. Losses may occur due to fluctuations in the price of the traded currency and interest rates.
Also, swap points may switch from receiving to paying.
If the effective ratio falls below a certain level, positions will be automatically forced to close (stop-out). However, because this trading allows margin beyond collateral, losses may exceed the margin in the event of sudden market movements. Before starting trading, please fully understand the mechanism and risks of this trading, and trade at your own risk and judgment.
● Buy/sell commissions are free for both new orders and settlement orders.
● Investment advisory fees are 1 yen (including tax) per 1,000 currency units and are included in the spread.
● This trading has a spread between the selling price and the buying price of currency pairs, and spreads may widen during rapid market changes.
● Trading up to 25 times the margin is allowed. On the first settlement date, the required margin is calculated based on the settlement price. From the next business day onward, the end-of-day closing price of each currency pair is used as the reference price to determine the required margin (in yen). For corporations on the first settlement date, the margin is the settlement price plus the currency risk assumption ratio published by the Financial Futures Association, converted to yen. From the next business day onward, the end-of-day closing price of each currency pair is used as the reference price to determine the required margin (in yen) adjusted by the currency risk assumption ratio published by the Financial Futures Association.
