English: [Video] We are revealing the “Shimonryu Emotion Suppression Method,” which I actually don’t want to teach.
Hello, this is Shimoyama.
In the previous newsletter,
I talked about
As I mentioned,
Of course I am human too,
There are times outside trading whenI get frustrated.
For example, games.
When you lose in online matches
it’s definitely frustrating.
In trading you don’t directly compete against someone
where win or lose is decided,
but in games wins and losses are clearly decided,
which stirs emotions.
In general society,
“When you feel anger, count to six”
is a common anger management technique
that is discussed.
They say,
you can calm down while counting six,but what about you?
In my case,I don’t feel it works very well.
Even if the anger subsides after six seconds,
later I remember it again,
and feel irritated…
So I,when I feel anger,
do something else instead.
To direct the energy of anger toward a good direction,
I take a certain action,
and I talked about what I do on YouTube.

In fact,I apply this every time I lose in games,
and indeed I feel the effects.
To be honest,
it was a method I would have rather kept to myself, but
I hope you’ll find it helpful, so I’ve shared it.
“Calm anger,
and another positive change will come as a result—a two birds with one stone method.”
Please take a look.

Ichiro’s Emotional Control
======================
Speaking of which, the other day I was watching YouTube
and a video of former major leaguer
Ichiro appeared,
and he talked about“emotions.”
As “Ichiro-sensei,”
in a YouTube series where he answers various questions,he said
that in that series Ichiro says,
“First, if you become emotional, you will definitely lose.”
He said that.

“How can I control my emotions? [Teach me! Ichiro-sensei]”
Quoted
I completely agree.
Whether in sports, trading, or games
it’s the same—if you become emotional
the moment you do, it’s over.
It made me realize again how important emotional control is,
and
the words of Ichiro, who battled and achieved great results worldwide,
have more “weight” and “persuasiveness.”
Also, regarding Ichiro,
a book wrote the following:
“Ultimately, Ichiro’s greatness lies there. Any player inevitably has days when they want to rest a little, but Ichiro never does. Every day after games or practice, he polishes his glove and spikes clean. Even in the middle of the night, he practices batting. Doing the same thing for decades builds his rhythm, and he enters games in top form. That routine has produced countless great records.””

Never neglecting your routine at any time is not something ordinary.
Surely, through daily practice, you develop your own rhythm
and become confident,
and you may also become stronger against emotional fluctuations.
I imagine that as well.
“Consistency is power.”
An oft-used phrase, but
it is in these simple words that the essence is hidden.
=======================
The routines I must absolutely keep
=======================
By the way,I also
have something I’ve continued for a long time.
That is“Past Trading”.
RegularlyI practice trading using past price data.
When I tell this to students at Stock Academy,
they’re surprised and say
“Shimoyama-san, do you also do past trading?”
and I reply,
“Of course I do.”
Past trading and other foundational practicesare essential for me.
Habit can be scary—once you become accustomed,
you tend to forget the basics.
By the way, what are the basics?
I’ll explain concretely.
First,
There are two stages in trading taught at Stock Academy.
One is
“Trading that minimizes losses.”
The other is
“Trading that grows profits.”
.
At Stock Academy
first, you master the
“loss-minimizing trading.”
This is the basics of the wave surfing investment method.
“If stock prices rise or fall, what should you do?”
Always think about this,
and keep the balance of buy and sell positions
without large disruption,
trading safely.
Once you can do this loss-minimizing trading,
you will learnhow to grow profits.
This isa bias toward buy or sell,
in a position balance
that is skewed toward one side.
Of course,
I do not only hold long or short positions and
I do not completely neglect risk hedging,
but I trade in a risk-on state.
In my case,I usually practice the
“trading that grows profits.”
However, if I continue like this
for a long time,my awareness of the basics of “what to do when prices rise or fall”
may weaken.
Therefore,to reset my初心
I regularly review past trades as a reminder.
This is my routine.
In the world of stock trading,
once you master an appropriate method,
as long as markets exist,
you can continue to earn throughout your life.
However, naturally
it is not the case that
“you can get by without any practice.”
Even after turning pro
just like baseball players continue teeing off
basic training is still necessary.
So please, alsoreturn to basics.
Thank you for reading to the end today as well.
