Due to the global spread of the novel coronavirus, stock prices worldwide plummeted. Panic selling by investors led to a larger drop in the U.S. Dow Jones than in the Nikkei average, with the decline surpassing the severity of the 2008 Lehman Brothers shock that disrupted the global economy. The Dow’s rebound was very rapid, but how much did individual stocks fall in this short period? We compared the rebound status between Japanese stocks and U.S. stocks.
