[Japanese translation] What is CODE, which SingularDTV, building a distributed entertainment economy, tackling?

Recently, it seems they’ve been teaming up with Hollywood insiders, but what on earth are they thinking…
At first, it seemed they wanted to decentralize Netflix and Hulu, cutting out intermediaries to directly connect creators and viewers, achieving a clean “labor reward” and fair viewing prices (that was the impression), and delivering our dramas and films while also making other works viewable… and of course building decentralized copyright management as well.
Since then, program production has been deprioritized, and it seems CODE has become the top-priority task, with development geared toward that, which is the current situation (not sure because I’m not closely following).
So, what exactly is CODE? I translated what Zach LeBeau, the head of SingularDTV, spoke about it. He is originally a writer, and some parts may be hard to understand… haha, so let’s read what it’s about.
SingularDTV: Building a Decentralized Entertainment Economy
The Ghost of Capitalism
Capitalism is an economic-political system where countries’ transactions and businesses are controlled by people who own wealth, rather than by the country itself, for profit. It has evolved from feudal states and nation-states to a system where individuals hold power. It is a system that humanity spent centuries perfecting, building modern civilization and returning everything to international commerce and exchange. However, capitalism is a sociopathic structure. Its primary aim is profit, providing unlimited resources and demanding infinite consumption, which is imperialistic. I’ve heard the term “responsible capitalism.” It refers to a form of capitalism where companies care for the communities they operate in, promote environmental protection, and support the arts. Yet responsible capitalism only forcibly restrains the essence of capitalism at best.
In capitalism, within a system that empowers a small number with great power, anyone can become a pioneer and create something. Capitalism can be an excellent system for the entire planet if run by conscientious people. But when power is held by men possessed by greed—the sociopaths obsessed with hoarding wealth—it causes enormous damage.
Those “addicts” in the capitalist structure behave as they please, generating a chaotic domino effect of actions and consequences for profit. It is extremely complex, and only future AI might fully classify it.
I recall seeing Nestlé’s PR people argue that water is not a basic human right, and that lakes and rivers should be owned and controlled by for-profit corporations. What on earth! I can never understand that mindset.
My father-in-law always talks to me about the spirit of capitalism from both sides. He actively participated in capitalism, but at one point the wind shifted, and the company he had worked for for years was sold to a foreign firm.
During the market crash of 2008, he was suddenly forced to retire. He also lost his pension that year. If you believe in promises and keep working your whole life, you’re supposed to receive a pension at retirement. The evil force stole that from him. From now on, he will have to work two jobs for the rest of his life just to pay the bills.
Therefore, the following questions arise.
