Investors on Twitter are gathering to pit their trading skills in a competition called the MKB Cup Trade Battle, an investment tournament, that is currently gaining momentum.

The origin of the MKB Cup's name comes from the Twitter account that hosts the Trade Battle, Makabe ©︎ Nikkei Average and Forex, the name of Kenjiro Makabe. It is derived from Makabe.

What I felt during the interview is that Mr. Makabe tends to think and speak by digging deeply into things. He demonstrates deep insight.

He doesn't talk much about his own background, but from asking questions repeatedly, I learned that he has held a position at the pinnacle of Japan's academic world, and in the field of philosophy, with years of extensive reading and continued deep thinking.

Of course, due to his lucid intellect, he has survived in a market where 80–90% of participants are forced out; but more than that, the practiced act of "thinking for oneself" has become ingrained in him, and I feel sure this is the reason he has survived and achieved excellent investment results.

From such a person guiding many workers toward becoming capitalists, what he realized is that after proper study, practical experience is essential; however, the investors he teaches tend to fight alone in solitary battles. Loneliness drains motivation, and as a result, many end up dropping out.

Therefore, he concluded that in an environment with competitors, finding peers to push each other and improve together, and if it becomes rewarding, the number of successful investors would increase further.

This philosophically deep thinking gave birth to the MKB Cup Trade Battle, which held its first edition on October 1, 2019.
