Did it predict Bitcoin’s appearance in a book published more than 20 years ago?
“Discard the existing paper money, coins, and currency of every country, and start over. A money system that is transparent to everyone, without borders, traceable in an instant, and incapable of betrayal. All transactions will be recorded on this ledger. No other currencies exist, and everyone’s records are公開 to everyone else.”
If you thought this was a description of distributed ledgers and blockchain, you’re sharp. But it’s a little different. It’s a passage from Volume 2 of “Conversations with God,” published in 1997 and a best-seller in The New York Times. Many readers have found guidance for life in the words of a book they encountered seemingly by chance.
In 2011, when I was stationed in the United States, I encountered that book. “Life is not a school. All the abilities and knowledge one needs are born within you. You only forget them intentionally. Because you need these abilities to create reality through ‘experience.’” I remember starting my own business as if it were yesterday, trusting that message.
