First, I lost 3kg! Three secrets to successful weight loss
Hello, this is Gen Yamashita.
"I will lose weight!"
In July this year, before the members of the Stock Academy
I declared such a thing.
In the past, I dramatically lost weight with RIZAP,
but I completely rebounded, and since then
my dieting progress had stalled.
But as a turning point for my birthday this year
I resolved to lose weight again.
Even so,for example, going to the gym
and doing intense exercise
was not an option at all.
I knew I would not be able to continue.
So I started with walking.
It was a "walking diet."
"If I just walk,I won't lose much, right?"
You may wonder,
but in the last two monthsI managed to lose 3 kilograms.
I got lost one day,
and suddenly found myself walking for 2 hours or 3 hours.
That happened a few times.
Recently,I’ve been walking while playing a newly released
Dragon Quest Walk,
and because of thatI have gradually been slimming down steadily.
Losing weight with just walkingis indeed possible.
And while doing the walking diet, I realized
that
This is my conclusion.
Unlike in the past,
where I lost weight rapidly and
ultimately rebounded,
this time I lost weight slowly over time,
and so far there has been no rebound.
Human beings tend to revert to their previous state when faced with abrupt changes.
Therefore,when weight drops suddenly
the instinct is to return to the previous state.
Scientifically speaking,
it is best to lose weight gradually.
Continue like thisand I think
I will keep losing weight little by little.
By the way, through this walking diet,
there is one more realization I’ve had.
That is
"Like I thought, painful things should not be done."
That is,
the idea that forcing yourself and desperately pushing through is virtuous
is something many people think.
Also,
when starting something new
you usually feel excited and think you can do something at a high level,
so you try to start something ambitious.
In dieting,
you might try extremely intense exerciseorfasting.
You tend to make reckless plans.
But if it’s painful, you won’t continue.
If you would drop out halfway anyway,
it is much better to steadily keep doing things that aren’t painful,
even if slowly.
For me,even if I had resolved to join a gym and lose weight,
I would have given up long ago.
I might have weighed more,
instead of losing 3 kilograms.
Because the "walking diet" is easy, I could continue,
and the results show it.
It may take time, but
I will continue without forcing it,and I believe I can gradually reduce my weight.

How to Quit Smoking Successfully
======================
Speaking of which, the other day
when I was talking about dieting,
a Stock Academy member
told me this story.
"It’s wonderful to be able to continue something.
I want to quit smoking and use the money I save on cigarettes for investment funds,
but I can’t seem to continue at all..."
"If I quit smoking, I’ll save money and improve my health,
but I just can’t bring myself to quit."
That was the story."
I think there are others in similar situations,
but how can one maintain quitting smoking?
By the way, that person considered this method:
"Use the fear,"they thought.
"If you see how terrifying the lungs of a smoker can become,
with vivid pictures,
you might become afraid and quit,"
they thought, and
even searched the internet for such images.
What do you think,
do you think this is an effective method to quit smoking?
Actually,it is not effective at all and may even be counterproductive.
Normally, when you clearly feel the harm to your body,
you might think you’d want to quit smoking out of fear,
but in reality, the opposite happens.
When smokers see pictures that highlight the dangers of smoking,
they don’t quit; they smoke more.
There are studies showing this.
If pictures on cigarette packs show how harmful smoking is,
do smokers actually reduce smoking?
In fact, the study found that seeing fear-inducing images
caused smokers to increase their cigarette consumption rather than quit.
Why is that?
Here is the reason
↓
=============================
Especially shocking and terrifying images
(pictures of a lung cancer patient dying in a hospital, etc.)
when shown, smokers actually crave cigarettes more vehemently.
Why is that?
Because the images induced fear.
To calm the anxious mind,
is there any better alternative to smoking?
Contrary to doctors' expectations that fear would lead to quitting,
smokers only try to escape the fear.

=============================
Therefore,
'Perhaps I, too, might become like this'
smokers who feel strong fear
tend to escape that stress by smoking more,
and thus smoke even more.
In this way, fear leads to not quitting smoking.
I think dieting is the same.
When you consider how obesity harms health,
and are told such things,
the resulting stress may lead some people to engage inbinge eating more than usual.
Regarding quitting smoking, actual successful quitters have said,
"Doing things you can't do at the same time helps."
They said this.
For example, chewing gum.
You can’t chew gum while smoking, right?
That apparently worked.
Since successful quitters say it,
it seems worth trying.

The same key to both stock trading and dieting
======================
I discussed dieting and quitting smoking.
- Avoid abrupt changes
- Avoid efforts that cannot be sustained
- Avoid unnecessary fear
as the main points.
And these three things are also very important
for succeeding in stock trading.
- Avoid abrupt changes
=
- Don’t try to make a fortune all at once!
- Avoid efforts that cannot be sustained
=
- Don’t analyze stocks for hours every day!
- Avoid unnecessary fear
=
- Don’t panic when you have unrealized losses!
In other words,
something like this.
If you are aware of these three things and can practice them,
your trading performance will change dramatically for the better.
Please take this to heart.
With that said,
Thank you for watching until the end.
Thank you very much.
