【Fuji Tomi】 Tokyo oil market makes a sharp rebound
(Tokyo crude oil and petroleum products)
On the 28th, Tokyo crude oil and petroleum products sharply rebounded. As of 11:00, the front-month August for crude oil futures is up 5,500 yen at 34,580 yen, the front-month October for gasoline futures is up 5,700 yen at 47,690 yen, and the front-month October for kerosene futures is up 6,400 yen at 45,640 yen.
Due to a rebound in overseas crude oil and a weaker yen, the Tokyo oil market is rallying. The previous day, overseas crude oil prices fell and the yen strengthened, delivering a double punch, but those were external factors that contrasted with each other. WTI has shown a rebound, but it faces a resistance at 48 dollars; market attention is on the U.S. API inventory statistics to be released tomorrow morning, and it would be prudent to wait for that release before making moves.
