Signs of Change in Each Market—A Forewarning of a Big Bull Market?
In early September 2019, markets began to change across the board. The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield, which had been falling since last year, rose briefly in early September.
Additionally, there were rate-cutting surges by advanced economies led by the United States and Turkey, the U.S.-China trade issue, President Trump’s Twitter posts, and Brexit, which caused confusion in the forex and stock markets. In early September, forex markets saw cross-yen shift from strong yen to weak yen, and the pound that had been sold began to be bought, showing a trend of a stronger pound.
In stocks, indices like the Nikkei and Shanghai Composite rose at times after downtrends.
Even gold, which had been a safe-haven asset and had been surging, fell. It isn’t just one market or one asset; nearly all markets changed around the same time.
When there is a change across the market as a whole, it signals the onset of a big bull market. Perhaps markets that had not moved for years will start moving. When markets begin to move, participant expectations rise, increasing the probability of large price swings.
This is still a possibility, but to avoid missing the chance of a big bull market, daily analysis will be crucial.
