IEO fundraising conducted by cryptocurrency exchanges

IEO stands for "Initial Exchange Offering," where a cryptocurrency (digital asset) exchange raises funds on behalf of a project’s company. In Japan, Coincheck announced in August 2019 that it was considering an IEO, attracting much attention, but overseas, major exchanges have already been conducting IEOs, and many IEO projects have generated substantial returns. Some have even yielded more than tenfold.

This is a new fundraising method conducted by exchanges, and because it has not yet become mainstream, capital tends to concentrate on a single IEO project. It can be seen as a prime example of first-mover advantage.
