The Blogger Life of a Part-time Investor
IguchiMr. Sato has many roles—employee, investor, blogger—but how does he spend his usual days?
Kazuo SatoAs an office worker, I work on weekdays and upload the blog after returning home. As an investor, I’m not just into FX; that FX is mainly high-yield swap points or automated trading. Essentially I don’t allocate much time to investing, mostly just checking confirmation emails.
IguchiYou seem to update social media frequently, which must be challenging, but in reality you don’t seem to struggle that much.
Kazuo SatoIt’s possible because I enjoy it.
Switching from Discretion to Automated Trading That Uses Time Efficiently
IguchiHow long have you been into FX?
Kazuo SatoSince the Lehman shock, about 11 years. I started around July 2008, so it was really just before that.
IguchiI’d like to know your current asset management situation; which currency pairs do you mainly trade?
Kazuo SatoIn broad terms, high-yield currency pairs include USD/JPY managed with Mexican peso/yen, Turkish lira/yen, and Australian dollar/yen. Since I also automate trading, the overall operation has the largest share in USD/JPY. It may diverge from the image of Turkish lira / Mexican peso operation blogs (laughs). In addition, since Iguchi recommended USD/CAD, I also trade USD/CAD.
IguchiThank you. Right now, among developed countries, Canada is the only one with potential rate hikes, so it seems easier to appeal.
Kazuo SatoUSD/CAD is solid, isn’t it?
IguchiI want to bring traders who traded AUD/JPY into USD/CAD. I think we need to tighten spreads a bit more, though.
Kazuo SatoI think it will provide enough receptivity. USD/CAD has better prospects.
IguchiBut right now, there aren’t many people trading USD/CAD. There are almost no market participants. I’d like to see it livened up somehow.
Kazuo SatoI think it’s better than AUD/JPY or NZD/JPY.
