Returning to 55 yen per day! Of course happy【Hedge swap carry】
On June 13, DMMFX’s payout swap dropped from 30 yen to 29 yen.
This makes the daily yield 55 yen. For me, it’s not just 1 yen, it’s not just 55 yen.
Hedging carry starts from the negative spread. The AUD/JPY is still around −5500 yen. Even if the daily yield is 55 yen, it should take about 3 months to recover this negative amount.
But as the AUD/JPY is expected to have two more rate cuts this year, the carry trade’s attractiveness may be limited for a while.
Instead, I’m watching USD/CAD. However, it’s temporarily narrowing the gap between receipts and payments, so it isn’t the time to start.
I’ll leave AUD/JPY as is and study USD/CAD, about which I don’t know much yet.
Bonus
Lately I’ve been taking on fairly short shorts. Summer vibe.
