Flat Manual Trader Free Trial|Tips to test features in order for a week with a demo account
Hello, this is Kotoha.
The discretionary trading support tool “Flat Manual Trader” is available for both MT5 and MT4 versions witha free trial version (demo account only)There is. The trial version has all features identical to the product version, and the only limitation is that it operates only on a demo account. Therefore, it’s recommended to test the features in sequence rather than trying everything at once. This article introduces tips to try over one week using a demo account.

■ Key concept to grasp first: divide the testing order
Turning ON lot calculation, trailing, partial take profit, and trading limits at the same time makes it hard to see how each feature works. Start with just the lot calculation, and once you’re comfortable, add one by one the management after entry. This makes it easier to judge whether it fits your own rules.
Note that this tool does not make entry decisions on your behalf. You place entries yourself, and this tool assists with post-entry management. With that in mind, try the following steps.
■ Step 1 (Days 1–2): Try only the lot calculation
The most notable feature is automatic lot calculation. It automatically computes the appropriate lot size from risk% relative to account balance (or usable margin) or fixed amount and SL distance. In the MT5 version, on the preparation screen (PREP), dragging the SL line recalculates the lot on the spot. A two-stage process of confirming and then placing an order with GO ENTRY.
In the MT4 version, you can choose among three methods for lot calculation, and the SL distance can be switched between PIPS method / ATR multiple method. Before placing an order, BUY/Sell SL/TP/trailing start positions are displayed as lines on the chart to check the distance.
Two points to confirm at this stage are:
- Whether changing the SL width causes the lot to change as you expect
For example, when risk is set to 1%, the loss when SL is reached is designed to be 1% of funds. Differences between instruments are also absorbed in the MT5 version by using the trading calculator (OrderCalcProfit). It supports CFDs such as gold and stock indices in addition to FX currency pairs.
■ Step 2 (Days 3–4): Add one by one the break-even movement and trailing
Once you’re comfortable with lot calculation, next try managing after entry. There are ATR-linked trailing and delayed trailing (start after conditions are met). In the MT4 version, you can activate break-even movement by PIPS/ATR multiplier/R multiplier/specified price, and offset can be specified.
A tip here is to change only one setting and compare the movements. When you change the trailing distance and start conditions, does SL move according to your rules? When watching the market, manual adjustments can drift easily; testing in a demo account to see if it moves according to your rules provides reassurance.
■ Step 3 (Day 5 and beyond): Try partial take-profit, scaled stop losses, and trading limits
Finally, test partial take-profit, scaled stop losses, and the prevent-overtrading function. In the MT5 version, partial take-profit supports delayed start linkage / RR attainment / specified price with 25%, 50%, 75% take-profits, and trailing movement after take-profit. There is also a scaled stop loss that closes a portion when the unrealized loss reaches a certain percentage of the SL distance.
Also verify the limits on simultaneous positions and daily loss limits (which blocks new entries when reached). If you often find yourself overtrading, these limits can help you confirm whether they fit your pace.
■ If you have leeway: try managing positions placed on a smartphone from your PC as well
There is a feature to manage positions placed manually from a smartphone (Magic=0) on the PC side. In the MT5 version, even after changes to the time frame or after restarting MT5, partially closed states are carried over to prevent erroneous re-execution. In the MT4 version, automatic SL assignment to adopted positions and respecting existing SL are supported.
If you often place positions from a smartphone while out and manage them on a PC when you get home, going through these steps will help you form a clear image of the deployment. If you’re using MT4, please allow automated trading on MT4 before use.
■ After testing, decide here
- Whether it operates without issues in your environment (MT5/MT4)
If these three points are in place, you have enough material to consider the product version. Conversely, if you feel the operation feel or rule compatibility doesn’t fit, that is also a takeaway confirmed in the demo account. The main advantage of this free trial is that you can confirm everything before deciding.
■ Who it suits and who it does not
