Do not allow wasted trades, bullish reversal scalping EA "Shōkinryū" — Forward results +2,810,000 yen, PF 2.04
Regarding this “Feature on Scalping Tools,” honestly at first I wondered, “Shoukinryu is more of a averaging-down buy-on-dip than scalping.” Yet I decided to apply because, on the Gold M5 timeframe, I have always valued a mechanism that recalculates, for each trade, how much price movement is needed relative to current volatility to trigger the next move. I want to properly share the ideas for avoiding wasted trades at this opportunity.
The most common mistake in scalping tools, in my view, is to fix and keep using narrow entry criteria. In calm markets, this might be fine, but when volatility spikes, keeping the same spacing leads to many positions piling up at close ranges in no time. This is the classic “wasted trades,” wasting margin and accelerating unrealized losses.
Shoukinryu is a “buy-only” averaging-down EA that buys when prices are oversold on Gold (XAUUSD) on the M5 chart. The spacing for adding new averaging-down positions is not fixed; it is recalculated each time using ATR (volatility). In volatile markets, the spacing expands automatically; in calmer markets, it narrows. This small step enables automated differentiation: reducing wasted trades in turbulent markets while capturing opportunities in quiet markets.
Shoukinryu has been in forward operation on a real account since March 2026, and all results are fully published on GoGoJyan (GogoJyan). You can see not only backtest figures but how it has performed in actual broker live price movements.
Average profit per trade is 2,791 JPY, while average loss is -3,579 JPY; thus, per trade, losses are larger. Yet the high win rate of 72.33% accumulates profits, leading to a result of a profit factor of 2.04. The maximum drawdown is 23.72% (1,745,540 JPY), and there were days like September 4th with a daily decrease of -83,799 JPY. Some months grow, others shrink significantly—this is the reality.
Because of compounding (auto-lot) operation, as funds increase, the size of each lot grows, and monthly profits trend upward.
| Month | Realized profit |
|---|---|
| March (19th onward; starting operation month) | 180,581 JPY |
| April | 301,046 JPY |
| May | 451,265 JPY |
| June | 544,296 JPY |
| July | 597,435 JPY |
| August | 626,920 JPY |
| September (1st–11th; mid-term) | 112,071 JPY |
Shoukinryu, being a averaging-down EA, will have phases where unrealized losses expand if the market persists in one direction. The numbers shared here are not only the rising periods but include days such as -83,799 JPY and a maximum drawdown of 23.72%; with ATR-based dynamic spacing recalculated each time, this small adjustment supports both 11 years of backtesting and current forward results by reducing wasted trades.
