Noble Gold Dragon, turning from a loss exceeding 1 million yen to a break-even and profit — one-time settlement with price movement at the start of the week
Last week, unrealized losses for the delivery account's Shokanryu exceeded 1,000,000 yen, and we published this situation in articles and communities as is. After holding positions over the weekend and starting the week on the morning of today (7/27) with market movement, unrealized losses turned into profits, and when the internal conditions within the EA were satisfied, all held positions were automatically settled in one gowithout any manual stop-loss or take-profit adjustments. It is purely the EA's own judgment.
Data as of the morning of July 27, 2026, based on the screenshot at that time.
As noted in last week's article, in response to the rise in crude oil and plunge in gold triggered by Middle East tensions, the delivery account's unrealized losses temporarily exceeded 1,000,000 yen. Over the weekend the market was closed with positions held, and at the start of the week (7/27) morning, gold rose decisively.
Shokanryu has a built-in function: “all held positions' unrealized P/L turn positive and, if internal conditions are met, settle all in one go.” This time, those conditions were met with Monday morning’s rise, and all buy positions were automatically settled in one go. No manual stop-loss or profit adjustment was performed. It was solely the EA's own judgment.
Last week, seeing only the number “unrealized losses of 1,000,000 yen” caused concern and critical opinions in communities and reviews. However, unrealized losses are not realized losses until settled. As in this case, if the market recovers, unrealized losses may turn positive. Of course, there is no guarantee of a return or always turning positive. This time, simply the Monday morning price movement favored the situation; it could have easily widened unrealized losses.
The reason it could endure the unrealized losses over 1,000,000 yen is that this account's balance was large enough to absorb them. If unrealized losses are too large relative to funds, the margin maintenance rate could deteriorate before recovery, potentially leading to forced liquidation. Since grid-type EAs are designed to “buy more on the way down to endure,” whether they endure depends on the balance of funds and lot size. We do not generalize this result to mean “Shokanryu will always recover”; we view it as a result achieved with proper capital management.
