Why “Consistently Sustaining Stability” Is Important

In the world of FX,

“Monthly return ○○%”
“Capital doubled in ○ days”
“Achieving massive profits”

are phrases you may come across.

Of course, making large profits in itself is not a bad thing.

However, after decades in this industry, what I feel is that

the truly important thing is not temporary gains but the ability to keep going—“the ability to sustain.”

The scariest thing in asset management is to be eliminated

In investing, not only FX, the most undesirable outcome is “being forced out.”

Desiring big profits, one may take on too large a lot size,

and lose a large portion of capital in a single big drawdown.

If that happens, no matter how good the opportunities come later, you cannot participate.

In the world of investing,

the priority is to survive first, before winning.

This mindset is extremely important.

Compounding is something only those who persist can receive

I often say

First, you work and build assets.

Then, you gradually grow those assets through investments/management.

This flow is important.

And one of the attractions of asset management is compounding.

For example, even a 5% monthly return, if continued for a long time, makes a big difference.

Conversely, if you achieve a temporary large profit but then lose heavily afterward, it’s meaningless.

To leverage the power of compounding,

you need to stay in the market for a long time

.

Same applies to EA trading

EA (auto trading) is not a magic tool.

Every EA has markets where it performs well and markets where it struggles.

Therefore,

• Lot size management

• Capital management

• Drawdown management

are extremely important.

Choosing an EA is important, but

even more crucial is

how you operate it

because it greatly affects results.

Why people cannot sustain

In many cases,

what prevents continuity is not the market but emotions.

• Wanting to grow too quickly

• Being concerned about others’ profit reports

• Fear of unrealized losses

• Wanting a sudden reversal to the upside

Such emotions can cause you to raise your lot sizes too much or break your rules.

However, the longer someone has been operating,

the more they value stability over showiness.

What I think is important

As an EA developer, I have been active for many years,

and my aim is not

to “make big money in a short period.”

Rather,

to operate in a way that can be sustained for a long time without overexertion

.

Investment is not a sprint but a marathon.

The market will be here tomorrow.

Next month will come.

Next year will come.

That’s why

instead of trying to win big today, please keep in mind to remain in the market for 5 or 10 years from now.

“how long you can keep going.”

Asset formation does not happen overnight.

Don’t rush, don’t overextend, and continue with a risk level that suits you.
