Developer of the Gold (XAUUSD) dedicated EA "Shoukinryu" and "CHAOS_GOLD_LISKOFF_MT5." After experiencing significant losses from discretionary trading, shifted to emotion-free rule-based automated trading. Believes in EA development that withstands 11 years of backtesting.

Today's movement
Gold started from the previous close of $4,566 and continued downward. It traded in a $4,531–$4,589 range through Tokyo to European time, but after the New York session began, it briefly slipped below $4,500. In the late night, a mood of reluctance to move positions ahead of the 3:00 AM FOMC minutes lingered.
Key price ranges today
There are moments when the price breaks below $4,500, approaching the last week's low of $4,479. However, the pre-minutes position adjustments weigh heavily, and a clear direction won’t be established until the minutes are released.
If the minutes are dovish, expect a rebound above $4,577; if hawkish, risk of breaking $4,479 remains. Around around 3 AM, both EAs’ news filters will auto-activate.

The break below $4,500 on gold contributed to the increase in unrealized losses. However, margin maintenance remains at 8,270.3%, providing ample safety margin and no capital management concerns.
If tonight’s minutes show gold moving upward, unrealized losses will begin to compress. If gold surpasses $4,577, closing positions may be considered. Tomorrow 5/21 (Thu) is a scheduled holiday with no trading. Depending on PMI flash results, the Friday entry direction could change.

With a probability of rate cuts at 2.6%, hawkish content is expected but a hawkish surprise could cause larger price moves. Both EAs’ news filters will auto-activate around the minutes, so manual intervention is unnecessary.
