【Daily Report】May 18, 2026 (Mon) Last week fell by 4% to $4,530 — battle for support at $4,479 ahead of the Wednesday FOMC Minutes
Developer of Gold-specific EA "Shōkinryū" and "CHAOS_GOLD_LISKOFF_MT5". After experiencing significant losses through discretionary trading, shifted to rule-based automated trading with emotions removed. Believes in EA development that can endure 11 years of backtests.

Last week's recap
US April CPI and PPI both exceeded expectations, completely erasing expectations of rate cuts. Some moves began pricing in hikes through December. Gold fell about 4% for the week, briefly dropping to $4,483 before ending near $4,530.
This week's key price ranges
Gold starts around $4,530 at the open. The focus is whether it can defend the nearby support at $4,479. Technically, the bearish bias persists, and moving averages remain directed downward. On the other hand, the People's Bank of China made a large purchase for the first time in 17 months, which provides some support to the downside.
This week the main event is the FOMC minutes from the last meeting on Wednesday. Depending on the number of dissenters and the content of the discussions, gold could move significantly. Until then, the week is expected to be range-bound with unclear directional bias.
