1. Today's conclusion (directional edge)
The Japanese CPI data is likely to keep the yen relatively firm, but it will not be an outright yen-buying day; selective cues are likely to predominate.
1.1. Today's strategic bias
Japan's nationwide CPI is scheduled for release on April 24, and yen-related moves tend to become sensitive before and after the release.
On the other hand, expectations for a Bank of Japan rate hike in April have cooled recently, so even if CPI is strong, yen buying will not necessarily continue in one direction.
