"We need to study about 'ki' even more and more" (Kaburagi Shigeru, from "Sōba oku no Hosomichi")
In 1930, there was a fortune-teller born in Taiwan.
He produced numerous bestsellers on investments and markets,
and is also known as the founder of Investment Daily News.
"The Narrow Road Through the Market" and "The Philosophy of the Market"—
many readers may recognize these book titles at a glance.
In the world of trading, he was revered as a senior figure in the Way of the Market, earning the respect of many investors.
The reason I picked up this book was
a remark from an acquaintance who had worked at a fund in his youth.
"You should read this at least once."
Honestly, with recent FX books,
they sometimes feel light and shallow.
But old market books are different, after all.
Between the lines lies experience and resolve.
The words described at the end of such a book as "The Narrow Road Through the Market" arethe final linesthat follow.
"We must study the concept of 'ki' (spirit/momentum) more and more.
Speculation always seeks the opportunity, and we should tighten our ki,
so that ki does not wane in the mind."
In the main text, technical analysis and price action are primarily discussed,
yet the ending is a discussion of 'ki'.
This is quite shocking.
In the end,
no matter how excellent the analysis,
no matter how refined the method,
what we finally face in the market is the 'human heart'.
Aligning one's mind and maintaining good ki
may be what ultimately determines outcomes in both the market and life.
A new year has begun.
If possible, let us emanate good ki and create a good cycle
together (laugh).
This year as well, I look forward to your continued support.
Well then, until next time.
