“He who knows sufficiency is wealthy” (Laozi)

I have liked the relaxed teaching style of Lao-tzu since my youth.

Knowledge of contentment is wealth; those who persevere are determined.

＜Transliteration＞

One who knows contentment is rich, and those who strive diligently have ambition.

＜Modern translation＞

A person who knows how to be satisfied is truly wealthy, and a person who continues to strive has already achieved their goal simply by doing so.

Living in a high-consumption society, I feel it offers a real hint on how to live.

・How to face ever-rising desires

→Desire is infinite, so at some point you must draw your own line.

・A world where it’s hard to sustain one thing.

→I feel an obligation to keep chasing new things.

That may be how we are being prompted.

It’s important to persistently and steadily focus on one thing.

　　　

After trading for a week, your heart can become tainted without you realizing it.

There are regrets like “what if I had done that then…,” or profits turning to losses.

Today is Sunday, I want to ensure I don’t neglect mental maintenance.

Social media taints the heart, so for now I’ll ban my smartphone (laugh).
