“Power of the Vow” (from “Day Trading”)
From the chapter titled “Ten Lessons to Become the Ultimate Trader.”
“Strangely, the vows one writes have power. When you break a vow, you seem to become aware of having committed a sin. Vows have an effect. Today, I would like you to make a vow. Write the vow on paper and look at it every day. This is because merely knowing what is right is not enough. There are times when you must take a blood oath to carry out what you know is right.”Knowing something and putting it into practice are often completely different things.”
The following are listed as examples of vows.
・I vow to always follow predetermined stop-losses.
・I vow to consider risk before chasing profits.
・I vow to take full responsibility for my trades.
・I vow to write down the lessons learned from losing trades.
・I vow to always be mindful of my greatest weakness as a trader.
There are many books that preach the importance of writing.
Perhaps a genre called “the habit of writing.”
In the past, I thought it wouldn’t matter even if I wrote, so I ignored it, but
recently I feel it has begun to change.
There seems to be something that resonates deeply.
So, I started with the following vow as a first step.
・Cultivate a writing habit!
I want to write in a proper paper notebook, not on a smartphone (laughs).
See you next time.
