"Would you feel inclined to receive flight training from a flight instructor who can't fly" (From "Day Trade")
A section that explains the checks a person starting to trade should consider when choosing a mentor.
“Does the mentor trade every day? If the answer to this question is ‘No,’ hang up the phone or leave the room as is.”Would you feel like taking flight training from an instructor who cannot fly?(omitted)If the answer is “Yes,” please verify whether the mentor is a trader who makes profits. It is astonishing how common it is for traders who have exhausted their own investment capital and burned out to teach “how to incur losses.”Would you want to receive flight training from an instructor who crashes every time they fly? There is nothing more to say.
It has a rather ironic and nice feel to it.
I felt it was a check point that could apply when purchasing an EA as well.
There are various ways of thinking, but for me personally,
“EA developers should run their own EAs in real trading.”
To tie it back to flying...
“It’s as if an aircraft developer refuses to board their own aircraft.”
Something like that, I suppose (laugh).
“Your own masterpiece, right? Why not use it in real trading?”
When I’m asked this question, I can’t come up with a good answer (sweat).
See you next time.
