In the morning in Tokyo, the yen appreciated against the dollar. As European time approaches, the dollar is strong and the yen is strong. From European time onwards, the yen weakens against the dollar on the London fix. From European time to the close in New York, the yen appreciated against the dollar.

The dollar appreciated throughout the day.

Before European time, the market turned to selling the pound and buying the dollar. A cross yen decline occurred. Seeing the drop in US ISM data, the dollar and yen stalled. Towards the close of the New York market, pound selling led the dollar's rise.
