From European time onwards, the yen appreciated against the dollar as of the London fix. From Europe to the close in New York, the yen appreciated against the dollar across the board.

The dollar is weak throughout the day.

NHK's TV news at midnight in Tokyo said that the Bank of Japan is considering additional interest rate hikes, causing the dollar to fall.
