【9/17 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Alright, let's do some Dollar/Yen scalping tonight as well!
First, today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently, the Dollar/Yen is around 146.50. This morning it started around 146.45, but during Tokyo hours it remains cautious ahead of tonight’s US FOMC and Powell's remarks, holding a wait-and-see mood.
It seems we will hand over to overseas session at roughly the same levels as in the morning.
In tonight’s FOMC, a 0.25% rate cut is broadly expected and already priced in. The focus is on the dot plot: will there be two cuts (0.50%) by year-end, or three cuts (0.75%)?
If the market signals two cuts by year-end, the Dollar/Yen could rebound as a fait accompli.
Now, the points for tonight’s Dollar/Yen scalping.
● Movements around the London market open near 16:00
● Movements after the release of U.S. housing starts/building permits at 21:30
● Movements around the New York market open near 22:00 (Dow opens at 22:30)
● 27:00 US FOMC policy rate & statement release
● 27:30 Powell's press conference

● Be mindful of headlines related to the Liberal Democratic Party leadership race
Tonight’s 1-minute scalp trades aim to profit from moves around each market open plus the moves after the 21:30 release of the US housing starts/building permits. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handling according to the theory should be fine. Also, although 27:00 “US FOMC policy rate & statement release” and 27:30 “Powell’s press conference” are coming up, I will enter trades if I can stay awake… if I can stay awake, that is.
Additionally, the 15-minute short-only scalp, given tonight’s FOMC & Powell, remains cautious and today one should not overextend.
