"There is a column published on Toyo Keizai ONLINE!" You don’t need to regret taking profits
Good morning, this is Matsushita.
Every Saturday,
this year as well, we will bring you
columns on topics related to investment.
Today's theme is,
“Profit-taking is a thousand-strong power.”
As the first column of the year, it is a lucky theme.
(Coincidentally. LOL)
For the entire year this year,
let's profit-taking firmly.
【Column】 Makoto Matsushita's Investment Exploration
No. 180 “Profit-taking is a thousand-strong power”
In investing, “profit-taking” means increasing one's funds,
and can be considered as proof of achieving a goal. If you increase funds through profit-taking,
it becomes easier to bear risk in the next trade, and the edge is
enhanced, which is why profit-taking has substance.
This power is precisely why it is said to be “profit-taking is a thousand-strong power.”
Profit-taking is performed by the investor's will and decision.
In other words, profit-taking is a power that comes after the investor's clear decision,
and is worthy of high regard. However,
it's strange, but many investors regret even after taking profits;
“I sold too early. If I had held on longer,
I could have increased my profits.” They always speak with what-ifs,
and never show appreciation. This investor will never be satisfied with their own profit-taking, no matter how long time passes. There is no such thing as the best profit-taking.
There is no need to regret the profit-taking that you carried out according to your own decision.
Profit-taking is the result of the investor's own decision,
and as a consequence, you can gain the power of profit as evaluation of that decision.
First, let's face this result head-on and be grateful,
and not forget it. Without a grateful heart, profits
will not come back to you.
Profit-taking is the evaluation and power of your decision.
When you profit-take, be sincere in your thanks.
If you do so, profit-taking will visit you again,
and you will be able to accumulate profit-taking in gratitude.
