From the construction company to the world of investing
| Do. says that you originallyran a construction companyHow did you transition into investing? |
| Hayakawa from Gogojan |
Yes. I started as a carpenter, and gradually, as a construction company, began receiving larger orders, moving around about 150 million yen per year.
However, working capital was always necessary, and I started with the light intention of supplementing it a little through investmentscommodity futuresas the trigger. |
| The business seemed to be going well, but what prompted you to focus more on investing? |

In construction, materials and land, etc., always require large amounts of money. There was a desire to have more cash-flow flexibility. |

Bitter experiences in futures trading
| You started with futures, what were the results? |

I experienced crude oil, gold, corn, and the Nikkei 225, among others. But I hit a margin call and suffered a large loss. At that point,“This can’t continue.”I felt. |
| So the financial burden was indeed large, wasn’t it? |
| Hayakawa from Gogojan |
| Do. |
Yes. Payments piled up, and I ended up putting money I should have kept aside into the market. I started investing hoping for cash-flow relief, but it ended up squeezing me further. |
Encounter with FX and turning point
| After that, how did you move into FX? |
| Hayakawa from Gogojan |
| Do. |
Futures had strict trading hours and restrictions, making it hard to move freely. SoI thought that with higher liquidity and relatively lower margin call risk, FX might work well. That was the turning point. |
| What were your trades like back then? |
| Hayakawa from Gogojan |
Looking back, it was truly reckless. I hadn’t set any rules and would jump into the market saying, “I have payments this month, so I’ll increase,” so there was no chance to win. |

The change brought by meeting my mentor
| As you continued investing, what became a turning point? |

I met a professional investor. At first, I purchased his materials and talked with him directly at a seminar. That person's words prompted me to reorganize my business and restart focusing solely on investing. |
| What words stayed with you? |

“Even if you keep borrowing, the fundamentals won’t change. It’s meaningless unless you liquidate once and start over. It’s okay; investing can be done by one person.”I realized that this was true.
Even now I feel I can’t match my mentor’s investing and business skills. |

A Winning Edge I Gained Precisely Because I Had No Funds
| How did your trading change afterward? |

I went bankrupt, my funds dropped to zero, and I lived on a part-time job while dedicating time to testing. Because there was no capital, I could trade with small lots prudently, and I could execute stop-loss and take-profit strictly according to the rules. |
| Conversely, not having capital turned out to be an advantage. |

| That’s right. When there was a lot of money, I gave in to greed, but with no funds, I could calmly follow the rules. This is where I arrived at “Simple Logic FX.” |
