[8/28 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points]
Good job everyone! Let’s go ahead and scalp USD/JPY again tonight!
First, here is today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently USD/JPY around 147.25. This morning it started around 147.35, and during Tokyo session, despite a wait-and-see mood at month-end, the more dovish Nagawa Nagata? One moment: the Bank of Japan's policymaker Nakamura commented that if the economic and price outlook is realized, rates will be raised, which has led to a slightly stronger yen bias during the session.
From the morning level, about a 10-pip drop as we transition to the overseas session.
With the poor 2-year JGB auction results and Nakamura’s remarks, the overseas session may see more yen buying. Honestly, I don’t mind up or down as long as there’s volatility…
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements around the 16:00 London market open
● Movements after the release of U.S. initial jobless claims and U.S. Q2 GDP at 21:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the release of U.S. existing home sales pending at 23:00
—–
● Caution with headlines related to the Trump administration
Tonight’s 1-minute scalp aims to accumulate profits through movements around market opens and after the 21:30 data releases (initial jobless claims and Q2 GDP) and the 23:00 existing home sales pending. For users of the “1-minute scalp club,” if you follow the theory, there shouldn’t be an issue.
Also, for the short-only 15-minute scalp, due to the weak 2-year JGB auction and Nakamura’s remarks, overseas time could see yen buying, offering opportunities. If we can sell around the mid-147s, we will enter a position.
And now the overseas session is about to start!
