Following setbacks that saw him lose most of his severance pay, he continued trading with small capital and in 2024 completed a “near-holy-grail” perfect trading method. He currently works as a taxi driver while practicing the method. |

From Teaching to the World of Trading |
| Mr. Oji Sega, I hear you also served as a junior high school vice principal. |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| | Yes, I worked as a Japanese language teacher at a public junior high school and took early retirement at 55. |
| Were you already trading while you were teaching? |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| Yes, it was a few years before I retired. At first I tried various things like USD/JPY, but eventually I settled ongold, which has large price movements,in the end. |
| How about other investment products, such as stocks or crypto assets? |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| | I’d like to try them someday, but first I want to master gold, and then move on. |
What Made Him Start FX and the Initial Excitement |
| Please tell us the background and reasons for starting FX. |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| When I was a teacher, I learned about FX from an ad and tried a demo account first. At that time, I was thrilled by my first experience of“feeling like grabbing cash with my own hands,”so much that I couldn’t sleep all night. |
That must have been quite a feeling...!! What was the most attractive part for you? |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| | It was the possibility of significantly growing assets quickly even from a relatively small amount of margin, say around 100,000 yen. |
The “Hellish” Period After Retirement |
| I hear you retired from teaching after starting FX; did things go well from the start? |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| No, I was still far from it when I retired. Quitting teaching was a big gamble, but for some reason I had the resolve that I would “definitely make it mine.” |
| I see. You felt like you could use your severance as capital and go all in. |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| That’s right. But I was prepared that“you can’t see how to win without going through hell.” In fact, right after retiring I bought many products andspent 3 to 4 million yen. |
Choosing Indicators and Days of Chart Watching |
| So you ended up starting after using up your severance. How did you rebuild from there? |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| | To verify the indicators I had bought through product investments, I spent about a year constantly watching candlesticks. |
| When you have too many options, choosing indicators sounds even harder. |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| | Yes. Even after deciding on the indicators, I kept watching charts day and night to identify patterns. |
Logic Completion and the Birth of “Maou” |
| As a result, what skills did you acquire? |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| | I became able to perfectly identify each market pattern: uptrend, downtrend, and range. |
| And that led to the completion of your logic. |
| | | GogoJungle Hayakawa |
 | | Oji Sega |
| Yes, the logic is fully established. Based on that, I developed a semi-discretionary EA, “Gold Trade ‘Maou’,” which is sold on GogoJungle. |
You’ve finally established your FX logic, and it feels like your “second life” after retirement has begun. Next time, we’ll dig deeper into what kind of tool “Maou” is! |
