From university days to the start of his investing life and the first setback |
| SEAN, you started investing since your college days, what prompted you to start? |

| | My father was into stocks, so when I turned 20 I thought I’d start too. I began with individual stocks at first. |

| After that, you diversified into various other financial instruments? |

| | Yes. Stocks, mutual funds, binary options, FX, and now cryptocurrencies as well. |

| I see, a wide range. Your main work is running a design/development company, but how did investing fit in? |

| | It started as a hobby between work breaks. |

| | When I was a college student I started binary options, but I traded with no knowledge, like gambling. Before I knew it I had spent 2–3 million yen, all my part-time earnings. |

| | Yes. You could move money just by clicking, so it became addictive... it was basically gambling. |

| Did something change your perspective? |

A meeting with a mentor who changed my investing life |
| Later, I met a senior trader. |

| Yes. At a drinking party I explained my situation, and he said, “That won’t do.”
He told me to study properly, and that’s when my awareness changed. |

| I finally realized that learning was essential. |

| | Because studying itself wasn’t hated, I relearned everything—from investment terminology to chart patterns to indicator formulas. |

| That later led to tool development as well. |

| | It changed a lot. I used to enter 100 times; now it’s less than one-tenth of that. I became more selective about entries. |
