【8/1 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Let’s do some Dollar/Yen scalping again tonight!
First, from the Tokyo session overview for today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 150.50. This morning it started around 150.70, and during the Tokyo session there is a cautious tone ahead of the US jobs report tonight, but it’s holding in the 150 yen area.
The reason is that expectations for further US rate cuts have faded, and with Ueda’s remarks at the Bank of Japan yesterday implying an early rate hike is unlikely, the dollar-buying and yen-selling trend has become dominant. Treasury Minister Koichi Katō’s remark that he is concerned about market trends including speculative moves has not much reaction from the market.
From the morning level, it looks set to drop about 20 pips as we move into overseas trading.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements around the London market open near 16:00
● Movements after the US employment data release at 21:30
● Movements around the New York market open near 22:00 (Dow opening at 22:30)
● Movements after the US ISM Manufacturing Index and the University of Michigan Consumer Confidence Index release at 23:00
—–
● Be cautious of headlines related to the Trump administration
Tonight’s 1-minute chart scalping is expected to accumulate profits through movements around each market open plus after 21:30 (US jobs data) and after 23:00 (ISM Manufacturing Index and University of Michigan Confidence Index) releases. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” it should be fine if you follow the theory properly.
Also, for those focusing solely on short positions with a 15-minute chart scalping, with expectations for fewer rate cuts and a cooling of BoJ rate hike expectations, the dollar is favored and the yen is under pressure, so please don’t push too hard today. Movements would likely appear after US indicators are released.
Now, we’ll soon begin overseas trading hours!
