【7/30 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Alright, let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, a summary of today’s Tokyo session.
Currently USD/JPY is around 148.10. This morning it started around 148.45, but during the Tokyo session, with forecasts of a tsunami in Japan following a large earthquake near Kamchatka, Yen buying came in.
So far there have been no reports of damage, and after the initial yen buying, USD/JPY has retraced a little.
From the morning level, it looks like a drop of about 35 pips will see a handover to the overseas session.
Now, tonight is the US FOMC. Until the announcement, will we see a bottom around the low 148s and continued firmness?
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around the London market open near 16:00
● Movements after the ADP employment report at 21:15
● Movements after the Q2 GDP release at 21:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the FOMC policy rate & statement at 27:00
● Movements after the Powell FOMC press conference at 27:30

Tonight’s 1-minute chart scalping aims to accumulate profits through movements around each market open plus the moves after the 21:15 ADP and 21:30 GDP releases. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” if you follow the theory, there should be no problem handling it. Also, at 27:00 the FOMC rate/statement release and at 27:30 Powell’s press conference are upcoming, and if I can stay awake, I’ll enter those as well. If I can stay awake…
Also, for the 15-minute scalping focusing on short positions, with tonight’s FOMC in mind, a large position adjustment selling could present opportunities. If the price can move to the low 148s, I’ll enter a short. If it breaks higher than that, I’ll give up…
And now, the overseas session is about to start!
