【7/17 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good work today! Let's continue with USD/JPY scalping tonight as well!
First, the Tokyo session overview for today.
Currently USD/JPY is around 148.75. This morning it started around 147.80, but during the Tokyo session the flow became buying dollars after William Y. Dudley, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, said, “The impact of tariffs is still in the early stages, and inflation will be affected significantly in the coming months.”
Also, the ruling party is struggling in the upper house election, causing yen selling. It’s the so-called “bad yen depreciation.” If the ruling party loses more than expected, Japan’s credit rating could be downgraded sooner.
From the morning level, it looks set to rise about 95 pips as we transition to overseas time.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movement around the 16:00 London market open
● Movement after the release of “US Initial Jobless Claims,” “US Retail Sales,” and “US Philadelphia Fed Business Outlook” at 21:30
● Movement around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

● Watch out for headlines related to the Trump administration
Tonight’s 1-minute scalping will focus on moves around market openings plus the post-21:30 moves after the release of “US Initial Jobless Claims,” “US Retail Sales,” and “US Philadelphia Fed Business Outlook.” If you’re a user of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handling according to theory should be fine.
Also, the 15-minute scalping, which is short-only, remains cautious on US near-term rate cuts and yen selling due to the Senate election situation, so no overdoing it today. If movement occurs, it would likely be after US indicators.
