【A Busy Full-Time Trader's Trade Commentary】How to earn a monthly income from the market
My name is Neko, and I am a full-time foreign exchange trader.
I am releasing the semi-discretionary method N-Method that uses EA, and I would like to explain the entries of the same method I conducted alongside my main trading work.
First, GBP/JPY.
The market fell sharply from Tokyo time, but I entered a short with N-Method around 5 o'clock.
The image is a 4-hour chart.
As a hint, the RSI is below 50 indicating bearishness, it touched 30, but since the trend is ongoing I ignore it. Then as the middle band’s slope increased and the Bollinger Bands expanded, it is the N-Method signal.
Note: In the N-Method manual, we stated that both the entry EA and the alert EA should be set on a 5-minute chart, but it is not an issue which time frame chart you set them on. From next time, I will set the EA on a 4-hour chart to make the entry points clearer and trade in parallel with my main trading work.
As a result, since it was Friday, I closed around 2 a.m. on Saturday without a clear profit-taking signal, and captured about 400 PIPS.
In 2016 or well before that, GBP/JPY commonly moved more than 300 PIPS, so
I feel that the range market that continued from 2017 has ended and a high-volatility market has come.
This is a daily chart. The portion where the vertical line extends shows Bollinger Bands expanding.
On the daily chart, breaking below the middle band is bearish, and since the bands were contracting, the likelihood of expansion was high, so contrarian trading should be approached cautiously.
I feel the price movement of GBP/JPY is condensed on the 4-hour chart.
Therefore, N-Method traders should focus on the daily and 4-hour charts, and leave lower time frames to the EA.
Bollinger Bands, RSI, and Heikin-Ashi
The chart settings may seem very simple, but
Oscillators and other indicators have calculation formulas that do not change much, so one is enough.
Rather, in modern times, simply knowing market moves in real time is already quite revolutionary.
Heikin-Ashi, which is widely used, may initially feel like “I can win!” in intuition, but many people feel disappointed when they actually start using it.
N-Method provides one answer to that.
