At the time I was in a band, dreamed of making it in music, and I worked in a studio. |

Then I saw a TV feature on traders and thought, "This could make money," and started it casually. |

Yes, but for the first five years or so, trading was hell as I constantly melted my funds.
At that time, affiliate marketing was doing well, earning around 400,000 yen per month, but I kept pouring that money into trades and losing it.I kept repeating such cycles. |

Backtesting was the turning point. Noticing price-movement patterns boosted results.
|

After joining a Web design company, someone successful in trading kept saying, “Backtesting is crucial.”
Previously I thought intuition, chasing methods, and chasing the Holy Grail would suffice.
But those approaches didn’t improve results.
However, after hearing “backtesting is important,” I studied past charts on MT4 relentlessly. |

What did you learn from your study? |

Gradually I began to see the habitual patterns in price movements, some subtle tricks, and from there my trading results jumped.
|
|
|
|
Some say “past charts are in the past, so irrelevant,” but in reality, similar price movements repeat.
There are irregular moves, but they are only a small part of the overall picture.
Being able to identify patterns and target them gave me significant profits and was a major turning point. |

After five years of effort, MochiPoyo's asset-building journey is very instructive.
In particular, the idea that “ingraining chart patterns in your mind” was the key to better results is especially notable.
