[Episode 3] Can the signal really be used? Verifying the accuracy and profitability of STG
In FX trading, there is only one purpose for using a signal indicator.
“To increase the possibility of consistently winning with reproducible rules.”That’s it.
What is indispensable for that is,verifying the reliability and performance of the signals.
This time, we will introduce how to use the built-in
Backtesting function and Report Viewerin Strategy Signal (STG).
Visualizing the “expectation” of signals
In STG, signals are not only displayed on the chart, but also
show statistical data of each signal on past charts (net profit in Pips, win rate, PF, etc.).
For example, analyses like the following are possible.
- On which currency pairs and timeframes
- Which signals (Buy#1, Sell#2, etc.)
- achieve what level of performance
These can be visualized in a report format with scores,
to identify currency pairs and timeframes with high edge“strategically screen”.
“High win rate” = “usable”? How to read the indicators
Even with a high win rate, if the risk-reward ratio is poor, the strategy becomes hard to use.
In the STG Report Viewer, you can perform multi-faceted analyses like the following.
| Indicator | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Win rate | A measure of entry reliability |
| PF (Profit Factor) | A profitability metric. About 1.5 or higher is a guideline |
| Total trades | A judgment of sample reliability |
| Net profit Pips | Actual accumulated profit in pips |
Learning from actual backtest results
In June 2025, backtests conducted with STG showed high performance for the following strategies.
The following examples demonstrated strong performance.
- ✅ GBPUSD × Sell#1 (15-minute chart)

・Net profit: 245.8 Pips
・PF: 10.04
・Win rate: 86.84% - ✅ EURUSD × Buy#3 (15-minute chart)
・Total trades: 52
・Net profit: 380.6 Pips

・Total trades: 32
・Net profit: 158.7 Pips
