Ground techniques and standing techniques
When I was a trader at a foreign company, there was a colleague who posted incredibly high returns every month.
In his off time, everyone would always go to hear him talk, but in the end no one could truly understand his know-how.
Whether he wasn’t intending to teach, or there was no teachable method… to be honest, I’m not sure, but
probably, such people are truly rare natural traders. Therefore, he simply can’t teach others.
So I have to admit that such people exist, but to get to the point, for ordinary people like us to do the same thing is inherently impossible, I have thought this since those days.
A few years later, I’m a martial arts fan, so I read and heard stories about various fighters, and I happened to watch a video where a famous athlete talked about the difference between standing techniques and ground techniques.
Standing techniques require talent, but ground techniques can be mastered by everyone with practice… that was the gist.
“This also applies to trading,” I thought.
I may not be able to do the standing techniques like the aforementioned person, but in ground techniques, if I train, I can keep winning...
That is the origin of my “hedged trading strategy.”
