Good work everyone! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today's Tokyo-time overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 146.90. This morning it started around 146.10, but during Tokyo time it jumped about 70 pips at the start due to remarks by U.S. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin that there had been progress in the U.S.-China trade talks held in Switzerland over the weekend.
After that, at 16:00 Japan time, when a press conference by Mnuchin regarding the U.S.-China trade talks began, dollar strength and yen weakness accelerated further.
From the morning level, it looks like about an 80-pip rise will hand over to the overseas session.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Around 16:00 London market open moves
● Around 22:00 New York market open moves (Dow opens at 22:30)

● 16:00 “Mnuchin press conference”, 20:00 “Mnuchin appears on CNBC” to watch
● Be mindful of headlines related to the Trump administration
Tonight’s 1-minute chart scalping requires attention to Mnuchin’s remarks, but with no special market catalysts, the plan is to accumulate profits around each market opening. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” I think it should be fine to apply the theory as usual.
Also, the 15-minute chart scalping focused on shorts has shifted toward a dollar-buying trend due to surprising progress in U.S.-China trade talks, so today don’t push too hard.
