【4/17 USD/JPY Scalp Points】
Good work, everyone! Now let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 142.60. This morning it started around 141.80, but during Tokyo time a statement by Akazawa, the economic revitalization minister who met with President Trump, that “no talk of FX came up” caused a more than 1 yen depreciation in the yen.
After 10:30 Japan time, it reached an Asia-day high around 142.85.
The negotiation partner on FX talks is Finance Minister Kato... it is natural that FX talks did not come up, so this rise seems precarious, but...
From the morning level it has risen about 80 pips and is likely to pass the baton to overseas trading hours.
Now, the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open around 16:00
● Movements after the release of the US Initial Jobless Claims, US Housing Starts, and US Philadelphia Fed Business Index at 21:30
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Pay attention to remarks by US officials
● Pay attention to headlines related to the Trump administration
Tonight’s 1-minute scalp aims to accumulate profits with moves near market opens plus the 21:30 releases of US Initial Jobless Claims, US Housing Starts, and US Philadelphia Fed Index. For users of the “1-minute scalp club,” if you handle it according to the theory, there should be no problem.
Also, for the short-only 15-minute scalp, the market has turned bearish because of Akazawa's remarks, so there seems to be a chance to sell from higher levels. If it forms a setup to sell around the 142 mid-level, we will enter.
