【4/3 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Let’s do some Dollar/Yen scalping again tonight!
First, from today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently the USD/JPY is around 146.90. This morning the pair started around 148.90, but during Tokyo time the trend of dollar selling continued after Donald Trump’s tariff announcement, resulting in about a 2-yen decline.
The impression is that the tariff rate was harsher than market expectations. With a full-blown trade war starting, concerns about economic slowdown are rising. By the way, Japan’s tariff rate is higher than the EU’s… Ishiba….
From the morning level, it looks like we’ll hand off to the overseas session with about a 2-yen drop.
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around 16:00 London market open
● Movements after the release of US Initial Jobless Claims and US Trade Balance at 21:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the US ISM Non-Manufacturing Index at 23:00
● Be cautious of US officials’ statements
● Be cautious of headlines related to the Trump administration
Tonight’s 1-minute scalp will present opportunities around each market open, plus after the 21:30 releases of US Initial Jobless Claims and US Trade Balance, and after the 23:00 US ISM Non-Manufacturing Index release. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” following the theory should pose no problem.
Also, the 15-minute scalping which is short-sentence oriented might see the market leaning dollar-weak due to global slowdown concerns from Trump’s tariff announcements, so there should be opportunities as well. If you wait for a slight pullback and can sell around the mid-147s, that would be the setup.
Now, the overseas session is about to start!
