【3/27 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now let's do some dollar-yen scalping again tonight!
First, the Tokyo time overview for today.
Currently, the dollar-yen is around 150.40. This morning it started around 150.50, but during Tokyo time, after President Trump announced a 25% tariff on imported automobiles, there was a dearth of new factors and the dollar sold off.
Shinzo Abe's remark that “countermeasures against the U.S. auto tariffs are also an option” was also a factor contributing to the dollar’s weakness.
After dipping to the day’s Asia low of around 150.05 in the early afternoon, it did not break 150 and then rebounded, and it seems it will hand off to overseas time at the morning level.
Now, here are tonight’s dollar-yen scalping points.
● Movement near the London market open around 16:00
● Movement after the release of the U.S. weekly unemployment claims and U.S. Q4 GDP at 21:30
● Movement near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movement after the release of U.S. existing home sales pending at 23:00
● Be cautious of U.S. officials’ statements
● Be cautious of headlines related to the Trump administration
● Be cautious of headlines related to Bank of Japan rate hike expectations
Tonight’s 1-minute scalping will offer opportunities around each market open and after the 21:30 release of U.S. unemployment claims and Q4 GDP, and after the 23:00 release of U.S. existing home sales pending. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” if you follow the theory, there should be no issue.
Also, for the 15-minute scalping that is short-only, as yesterday, from the mid-150s level due to month-end, year-end, and quarter-end timing, there is less room for upside and there should still be opportunities. If it can sell around mid-150s, that’s the image for taking positions.
